In fact it did not take place as we departed on the 3rd on 1.15 am!!! and then crossed the date line – so I do not get older this year! 😉 /
Tatsächlich fand er nicht statt, da wir am 3.10. um 1.15 h morgens gestartet sind und dann die Datumsgrenze überflogen haben – also werde ich dieses Jahr nicht älter 😉

Back on Oahu I visited the PCC and had a wonderful day there  – gaining an idea of the different Polynesian cultures in the Pacific. / Zurück auf Oahu habe ich das PCC besucht und hatte einen wundervollen Tag dort – und bekam einen Eindruck von den verschiedenen polynesischen Kulturen im Pazifik.

Sailing the Napali Coast is one of the best things to do on this planet – with dolphins and snorkeling and this breathtaking coastline. / die Napali Küste entlang zu segeln ist eines der besten Dinge, die man auf diesem Planeten machen kann – mit Delphinen und Schnorcheln gehen und dieser atemberaubenden Küstenlinie.

Yes, I had a great time! / ja, ich hatte eine tolle Zeit!

Goodbye Kauai – I will come back / Auf Wiedersehen Kauai – ich komme wieder

Through friends I heard about a special place on Kauai called Lawai Center. It has always been a sacred place of healing for the Hawaiians and later the Japanese immigrants build a procession path there with 88 small shrines. Today it is undergoing restoration and spirited people are turning it into a place of meeting and healing for all the world. It is one of the most powerful places I have ever visited. Magical and healing and uplifting. /
Von Freunden hörte ich von einem besonderen Ort auf Kauai, dem Lawai Center. Für die Hawaiianer war es schon immer ein heiliger Ort der Heilung und später haben japanische Immigranten dort einen Prozessionsweg mit 88 kleinen Schreinen angelegt. Heute wird all dies restauriert und inspirierte Menschen gründen hier einen Ort des Zusammentreffens und der Heilung für die ganze Welt. Es ist einer der kraftvollsten Orte, die ich je besucht habe. Magisch und heilsam und erhebend.

A nice surprise to me was the Kauai Powwow – singing and drumming and dancing again / eine nette Überraschung war für mich das Kauai Powwow – einmal mehr Singen, Trommeln und Tanzen

Powerful and touching – and a lot of fun / kraftvoll und berührend – und eine Menge Spaß

There is something on Kauai that you can never get rid of on this island: chicken! They are everywhere! On golf courses, on trees, on bins and in bins – only it was hard to have the camera ready at hand in the right moment. Here are a few examples: / Es gibt etwas auf Kauai, das man in keiner Weise loswerden kann auf dieser Insel: Hühner! Sie sind überall! Waimea Canyon, the Grand Canyon of the Pacific (Mark Twain), impressive and beautiful – and busy with loads of helicopters 😉 – enjoyed it more when I was sitting in one / Waimea Canyon, der Grand Canyon des Pazifik (Mark Twain), eindrucksvoll und wunderschön – und voller Helikopter 😉 – habe es mehr genossen, als ich drinsaß

after all the travelling I have done already and the beauty I have seen – my brain went completely blank when I came to Kauai and everything I could „think“ was WOW! There are no words for this!
So if you are discontent with your actual life and you have learned that you cannot do much about that, you just have to accept – please rethink looking at the photos. It might make you feel unwell even more.

The Big Island is very diverse as to climate and landscape. A tour to the West side of the Island showed me the touristy part with beautiful beaches, nice cafés and a  sacred place of the Hawaiians.
Big Island (oder auch Hawaii) ist sehr unterschiedlich in Klima und Landschaften. Eine Tour auf die Westseite liess mich den touristischen Bereich sehen  mit wunderschönen Stränden, netten Cafés und einem heiligen Ort der Hawaiianer.

bay close to Hilo – turtles come here to feed – saw their heads popping up out of the water / Bucht nahe bei Hilo – Schildkröten kommen hierher zum Fressen – sah ihre Köpfe aus dem Wasser hochkommen zum Atmen

Waipio Lookout – amazing place!!! / Waipio Aussichtspunkt – ein besonderer Ort!!!

Sunset on Mauna Kea was a special experience with an adventorous road leading up to the summit – a place above the clouds – a colourful goodbye of the sun and the most amazing starry sky (still have to practice to take good photos of that).
Sonnenuntergang auf dem Mauna Kea war eine besondere Erfahrung mit einer abenteuerlichen Straße rauf auf den Gipfel – einem Platz über den Wolken – einem farbenreichen Abschied der Sonne und dem erstaunlichsten Sternenhimmel (muss immer noch üben, um gute Photos davon hinzukriegen).

Yes, it was freezing cold up there! / Ja, es war eisig kalt dort oben!
